Get off AUTO!!

Hey photography friends....

As requested by more than a few of you, I am thinking of doing a few photography classes coming up in March and wanted to throw the idea out there and see if there is more interest...

I'm trying to decide the best way to organize the class and wanted to know your interest and what you'd like to know more of... sooo..... if you've got the photo "bug" and would like to learn some simple basics to take more compelling and creative shots, let me know that you are interested, and also let me know what you'd like to learn the most...

Here are some of the basics that I feel are important...
composition (how the subjects are placed in the frame)
lighting
creativity
clarity and sharpness
action shots
focus

Then, for those that have an SLR....
moving off of auto and learning manual - HUGE!
exposure
ISO
aperature
depth of field
focus points
light meter reading
white balance
and much more...
backlighting (where the sun is behind you, hair all aglow.. my favorite!)

I'm also giving alot of consideration to teaching a class on Lightroom 2, that is the software that I do a majority of my editting on and I love it! Great for professional basics - does that make sense? If you don't have it, you can get it for $100ish from Adobe.com, and they also offer a 30 day trial for free...

So, here is what I'd love to know from you...
1 - are you interested?
2 - what type of camera do you have?
3 - what would you like to learn the most?
4 - would weekday classes work? while the kiddos are in school?
5 - are you interested in Lightroom?

This class(es) would be very hands on, we would be taking pics as we learn, and possibly as homework...

You may leave a comment or email me - thanks everyone!! More fun pics coming soon... wait till you see the "brown eyed girls" - so gorgeous!

I am interested in everything. We have a Canon and a smaller camera. During Kindergarten would be great but I am flexible.
